The second voyage of HMS Beagle took place December 27, 1831 through October 2, 1836. This survey expedition was under the command of Captain Robert FitzRoy. FitzRoy brought on young geologist, Charles Darwin. This is the voyage where Darwin made a name for himself with his geological research.
